Casper is a simple guy. He just wanted to live life on his own terms and find his own truth. In a world where everything's been discovered, that's easier said than done.
He grew up on stories of space lawmen like his uncle, hunting down pirates and ne'er-do-wells. Unfortunately the truth was much more banal and disappointing. Casper rejected joining the machine and set off on his own, and somewhere along the line, you became a part of that life.
